Welcome to Sewful Prayers... I'm Jen, the creative soul entrusted with filling the shelves & running things here in the shop.
My hubby of 36 years and I are empty-nesters living on a beautiful wooded property in middle Tennessee. I retired from selling my handmade items over 7 years ago, but in 2025 God put it on my heart to return to my creative-maker status in order to share my faith & my love for Him with others.
Although every item offered at Sewful Prayers is crafted by my hands, I give full credit to the Divine Creator for the inspiration He blesses me with.
Praying brought me to Christ and praying keeps me closely connected to God. In fact, praying has had such a positive impact in my life, nearly everything in my shop is designed & created to encourage others to become actively engaged in prayer.
My shop is small because although my creative process is simple, it is quite time-consuming:
The simple part is that I typically pray at night asking God for inspiration and He wakes me up around 2 AM the next morning with an idea (ask and you shall receive!)
What follows from there is the time-consuming part. I grab a pencil & paper (yes, I'm old school) and draw what I envision. Then I start the search for the supplies needed to bring my vision to life... which, in all honesty, God tends to bring what I need right to me (yes, He is good). From there I create a prototype/sample which inevitably means lots of seam ripping, fabric re-cutting, problem solving and finessing to create an item that does justice to His inspiration. Then I finally sit down to batch sew my items.
I share this because a tremendous amount of thought and care go into everything I make. That means I don't have oodles of items available at once, but what I have available truly is from my heart and hands. I want everyone who receives a Sewful Prayers item to feel love in every stitch and I want to help them become closer to God through prayer. Selling handmade items means they aren't perfect but then neither am I and God loves me just the same. I hope you feel that same love and grow your connection to God through these imperfect creations.
Thanks so much for spending time in my little shop. Have a blessed day!
*A Special Note: Please understand, my items are not meant to be toys. Rather they are interactive pieces of decor that require supervision with small children & children/adults with special needs.*
